What I Learned In 2013

Bye Bye 2013

Bye Bye 2013

I can’t say that I’m not happy to see 2013 go. I am. It was the most challenging year of my life. However, I won’t focus on the negative events, I will focus on what they taught me.  Here are a few things I learned:

When I need Him, and even when I think I got it covered, God will show up and show out.

Fasting and prayer changes things.

I am a better multi-tasker than I once believed.

When things get tough, you’ve still got joy. Hold onto it. Get away from people who try to steal it.

I actually do have a nurturing side.

I will fight fiercely for those I love. Especially, when they are not getting the treatment I think they should.

The human body and spirit are amazing. Even when you are too tired to keep going, they will keep going when necessary.

Know when to rest. It is essential to good mental, emotional, and physical health.

People you least expected to be there for you, will be there for you.

People can and will disappoint you. Expect it, but don’t let it make you bitter or angry.

I’m a pretty good speaker when I prepare properly.

People can give you hugs without ever touching you.

I cannot do everything. I must accept it and ask for help. It makes life muuuuuuch easier.

Learning to love people in spite of their flaws will make everyone’s life easier. People will not change unless they want to.

Compromise can make most people happy.

Everyone is entitled to have their opinion. Wisdom is knowing when to listen to it and when to ignore it.

All men want sex. You have to find the ones who want more than just that.

Never argue with an idiot. The world is full of idiots.

Laughter can diffuse almost any situation.

My family is AMAZING!

I have WONDERFUL readers.

What doesn’t kill you not only makes you stronger but wiser. However, you may walk away with a few scars. Cherish them because they are proof that you survived.

I now look forward to a glorious future.

I wish you a happy and prosperous 2014 with lots of good books to read.

  1. Amen and goobye to 2013!! It seems that you have learned some powerful lessons and are well equipped to receive the blessings and fight the battles of 2014. I’m extremely proud of you! It is my constant prayer that God will P.P.P.U.S.H. (push) you into your season of intangible blessings. P.P.P.U.S.H refers to pray, plan, and pursue your dreams until something happens. God’s delay is NOT a denial because His timing is ALWAYS perfect.
