Author-Jae-Henderson-BookSigningI had a great time in Little Rock this past Saturday during the book signing for “From Here to There” by Jae Henderson and Mario D. King! Pyramid Art, Books & Custom Framing in Little Rock, Arkansas is one of my favorite places. It’s a book store and art gallery combined that featured some gorgeous art and products by African American creatives. Unfortunately, Mario couldn’t join us physically but thanks to modern technology, he still made an appearance from his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. The crowd was quite engaged and had plenty of questions for Mario and myself.

During the event, one young lady bought all nine of my titles at once. That was a first and I was floored by the gestured. Thank you to all of my friends, family, fellow authors and Sorors who attended.  Also, thank you to Today’s Communique for coming and taking a few pictures of the event. It was an exclusive preview. “From Here to There” officially goes on sale Wednesday, October 22, 2019 on Amazon.com. This book is the final book in the Where Do We Go From Here series, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

This Saturday in Memphis, TN I will be a part of the official book launch for the book “Storealities” by Roquita Coleman-Williams. It features stories by 22 women, myself included. Roquita, one of the few black female executives in the railroad industry (She actually has her conductor’s license!!) is no stranger to hard work and breaking glass ceilings. She created this book to give a voice to everyday woman. We each tell a story about a moment in our lives that helped define us. I have read the book and I must say that I truly enjoyed each testimony by these amazing women from all walks of life. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful endeavor. It’s not easy taking off the mask and allowing others to see our flaws but if it helps someone, it’s more than worth it.

Hello Everyone!!

Summer is almost here and Literary Jewels has several stops. My goal is to schedule a vending opportunity every weekend unless I am on vacation. For those who don’t know, Literary Jewels is a subset of my company I created back in October of 2017 when I became a Paparazzi Jewelry consultant. It’s the place were books and jewelry meet and allows me to showcase my books along with some lovely pieces of jewelry. I must say that so for the endeavor is going quite well.

Here’s a video I did this week to showcase some pieces and books I will be selling during the Splashtastic Pool Party this weekend at Dean of Fashion Glamtique. It is at 5963 Summer Ave. from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Proceeds from the jewelry sales are used to fund the scholarship I created in memory of my mother, Lillie Marshall. Each year, I want to use it to assist a young man or woman who is pursuing a college scholarship in spight of challenging circumstances. We are actually accepting applications now! Little Writers Workshop

Hey Guys!

It’s almost time for The Little Writers Workshop. Saturday, June 24th myself along with author Angela Kay Austin will be instructing children ages 7 -12 on the art of writing. Students will also learn the basics of writing a good story and participate in a writing project. It is suggested that students who attend have moderate to strong writing skills to get the most out of this workshop. We still have some slots left and just because I think you’re special we are offering a 20% discount. All you have to do is register your little writer and put in the code littlewriter10.

Check-In begins at 9:00 a.m. The workshop will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Students must register in advance. The workshop is $20.00 per child.
